Phil is our Lead Coach and resident Goalkeeping Specialist at Roll With It Football—bringing a rare mix of experience, energy, and expertise to every session he runs.
With over a decade of coaching under his belt, Phil’s journey in sport began with a degree in Sports Developmentfrom the University of Portsmouth. Since then, he’s built up an impressive CV, working across a wide range of grassroots and elite football programmes. His most notable coaching roles include time at the Fulham Football Club Foundation and the Dorking Wanderers Youth Academy, where he helped develop young players across multiple age groups and abilities.
Phil doesn’t just coach goalkeepers—he lives and breathes the position. A passionate goalkeeper himself, he’s also managed and played for amateur teams since 2016, giving him invaluable real-world insight that he brings into every session.
What Phil Brings to RWI
Since joining Roll With It Football Coaching, Phil has led the development and delivery of our Goalkeeping Development Centre—a tailored programme designed to give goalkeepers the dedicated attention they often miss in team settings. He also plays a vital role in our schools programme and supports the wider delivery of our coaching curriculum across all age groups and formats.
Phil’s sessions are energetic, educational, and loaded with technical detail. He’s especially skilled at helping young goalkeepers grow in confidence, decision-making, positioning, handling and footwork—as well as understanding the tactical side of their role.
Off the Pitch
Away from the training ground, Phil is a massive Chelsea FC supporter (nobody’s perfect), and has a genuine passion for all things sport. When he’s not coaching, you’ll probably find him watching Formula 1, playing golf, or shouting at an ice hockey match.
Phil isn’t just a coach—he’s a mentor, motivator, and a key part of the RWI coaching DNA.
